Intuitive and Powerful EPOS Interface for Hospitality

One of the many RMS EPOS Add-ins we have available to us is the "Hospitality Add-in" - essentially an easy to use touchscreen interface optimised for a café environment. The operator can select products by touching hot-spots on the screen, drill down to sub-menus and add in modifiers or answer standard prompts as part of the workflow. Buttons may be colour coded, pictures added or kept simple.

The RMS system features a powerful customer database system built right into the heart of the EPOS system that allows you to collect as much or as little customer information as you feel comfortable. This customer data can travel right across your enterprise and be visible at other stores if you wish, informing colleagues there of an individual's details and requirements.

Speed at the Checkout

Speed at the till is key - RMS is super-fast to ring in bar coded items as well as handle a multitude of coffee and specialist tea combinations, eat in / take away and so on. Hospitality can deal with fast cashier switching to recall baskets as well as keeping a record of orders by table number. The RMS fully integrated Chip and PIN device ensures that the Chip and PIN transaction is completed as reliably and securely as possible - on average 2-5 seconds after keying in the PIN.

A stand-alone terminal is always an option, possibly due to an existing contract, but having the terminal connected in a "closed loop" eliminates re-keying of the transaction value and hence mistakes - everything balances with RMS. We normally also supply wireless Chip and PIN devices connected by Bluetooth in a hospitality environment.

Stock Ordering and Goods In

The built-in functionality within RMS Store Operations allows purchase ordering (PO) to be a breeze. Once a PO has been entered into the system, it can be sent electronically to the supplier and will remain in the system until the goods arrive. The PO is then recalled on the back office software and items ticked off as present and correct. This keeps the stock levels in balance, and allows tracking of goods receipts, item movement history, stock holding value and many more other metrics important in retail.

The powerful reporting functions and rich back office functionality allows you to monitor your business in real time. Of course, you will not wish to make available all items on the web - for each item, there is a single checkbox "Display on web". This ensures that your Café Latte is not displayed but relevant products are. A single checkbox is all that is required to display a store product on the web!

There is no re-keying or exporting / importing of data, no duplication of product information as you add new items into your store database, and most importantly, on-line orders are automatically downloaded into your RMS Store Operations Epos system with the correct item code and price ready to pick, pack and dispatch!
