Most items will be setup using the built-in Matrix functionality. Jackets, blouses, jumpers, shirts and most clothing items come in different colours and/or sizes. One Matrix "header item" is created for the style which defines price, description and code, and then RMS automatically creates the different combinations for this style all linked back to the one master item.
This minimises the setup required when bringing in new fashion lines and ensure that item searching, reporting, re-ordering and stock management is simplified when setup this easy. For customers that require more advanced product coding, our Fashion Add-In is available which goes beyond the standard functionality offered within Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System.
Customer Service at Store Level
Several powerful options exist at store level if you are out of stock of a given line item. The operator can be prompted to suggest an alternative product, look up stock at another store or back order items - maybe a new fashion line is arriving next month - RMS gives you the ability to take customer orders to make them feel privileged - allowing them to be the first to show off a new style. Other features as standard include BIN location for any given item - ideal for footwear where any given item may be in one of many stock locations - great to enable new part time staff to find sizes and products quickly and keep their customers from waiting.
Custom Fields capturing additional customer preferences
Custom fields within RMS can be utilised to track many aspects about your customer - for instance footwear or clothing sizes - ideal for niche stores that want to develop a personal relationship with all or certain customers, and keep details on file. Naturally, name, contact details and e-mail address capture are available as standard if the situation is appropriate to store these details. If you are a clothing or footwear store stocking children's items - then storing customer preferences as part of a "kids club" or scheme makes the visit to your store by the children even more fun - why not track their date of birth and market new products or promotions on or around their birthday - or their favourite cartoon character so you can more easily connect with them when they visit.
Speed at the Checkout
Speed at the till is key - Store Operations is super-fast to ring through bar coded items and has powerful built-in search facilities to find items that are not coded. Credit/debit card transactions are becoming even more popular as customers are more comfortable using their card for convenience, especially for lower-value items.
The RMS fully integrated Chip and PIN device ensures that the chip and pin transaction is completed reliably and as securely as possible - on average 2-5 seconds after the customer enters their PIN.

Stock Purchasing and Goods Receipt
RMS Store Operations allows purchase ordering (PO) to be a breeze. Once a PO has been created, it can be printed and/or sent electronically to the supplier. The order is recalled when the goods arrive. Items can be scanned in or ticked off to track what was received and what is outstanding. Your stock is updated immediately and items can be sold immediately.
The powerful built-in security can allow you to designate different tasks to different people, for instance, person A can be responsible for checking the goods received note and scanning into Store Operations but Person B must log in to approve their work and finally commit the stock levels.
When the store is part of a chain using RMS Headquarters, each store has the capability to look-up stock levels at other stores at the EPOS terminal. Stock transfers from one branch to another or branch to warehouse are also automated and tracked.
Back office and Head-Office Reporting Functionality
The flexible reporting functions and rich back office functionality allow you to monitor your fashion business in real time. RMS Headquarters delivers proven functionality that helps you effectively deal with price changes, new products, new suppliers, inventory transfers between branches or between a warehouse and branches. The Headquarters software is flexible, reliable and will adapt to the way you wish to work. Again, built-in security layers help you control who is responsible for what within your business.
